Ruidoso Downs Racetrack’s general manager Shaun Hubbard denies allegations of horses being held at the starting gates in the 2010 All American Futurity. The allegations were contained in a FBI affidavit charging members of the Los Zetas drug cartel of money laundering through quarter horse racing. In the affidavit informants told of a top leader of Los Zetas bragging that he had paid for horses to be held at the start of the 2010 All American Futurity.
“We have looked at the video tape of the 2010 All American Futurity from every angle many times in recent days and can see no evidence of any horse being held or denied a fair start,” said track general manager Shaun Hubbard.
Mr Piloto who won the 2010 All American Futurity was owned by Tremor Enterprises an alleged front business of the Los Zetas cartel.
